There could be a discrepancy between the number of Ad clicks shown in ClickGUARD's Click Reports as opposed to what is shown in Google Ads reports. This can happen for a multitude of reasons.
1. Google Ads is showing a higher number of clicks than ClickGUARD
If Google Ads is showing a higher number of clicks than what you see in ClickGUARD's dashboard or in Click Reports, this means that a portion of Ad clicks likely never went through our tracking template.
This is well beyond ClickGUARD's scope as the responsibility to send clicks through the template is entirely up to Google, provided that you have properly configured your tracking template(s).
2. Google Ads is showing a lower number of clicks than ClickGUARD
If Google Ads is showing a lower number of clicks than ClickGUARD, that means that Google's algorithm has (for any given reason) decided to either not log or simply not show/report a certain number of clicks.
For example, Google tends to retroactively remove what they consider to be invalid clicks from their reports, while ClickGUARD guarantees 100% transparency and will log, show and process all clicks.
Without going into all potential reasons why Google would choose to not log or display some Ad clicks, ClickGUARD is obligated to log every click that is sent through our tracking template.
