Repetitive ad clicks from the same sources are wasting your budget.

If you opt-in to block an IP address or an IP range that makes frequent, repetitive clicks within specific time periods you are able to prevent it from seeing your ads and making more clicks. You can also exclude an ad placement that keeps bombarding you with ad traffic.

By implementing repetitive clicks rules you can make sure your advertizing budget is being spent towards new prospects, rather than being wasted on same sources over and over again.

How to configure?

Click on the "Add Rule" button to add a new rule:

Then select the source you wish to apply the rule to:

Finally define the threshold and time period you wish to observe:

Make sure to hit "Save Changes" to apply the new rule.

How long are IPs/ranges blocked for?

IP addresses will be blocked based on your default IP blocking period configured in Account Settings.

For how long are placements excluded?

Ad placements will be excluded based on your default ad placement exclusion period configured in Account Settings.

Go Advanced?

By switching to Advanced rules - Click Frequency you can combine detecting repetitive clicks with other criteria (threat level, geo location, device type and others), or apply them to specific campaigns or keywords only.

Additionally, you can:

  • override your default IP blocking / placement exclusion settings

  • create notify-only rules

  • get Slack notifications when rules trigger

  • block sources across multiple campaigns

With advanced rules you can cover almost any combination of repetitive click patterns. You can also manage how you're being notified when rules trigger as well as apply custom click tags for advanced reporting.
